**** Season ends with a loss in QF**** BCC played Cheshire Cricket Club in the Quarter Finals for the 40 over competition and lost. BCC lost the toss and was put into bat. Cheshire bowled well and fielded exceptionally well and destroyed BCC batting line up. BCC only made 106 runs but made it a close game. BCC bowled aggresively to defend a small total and removed first 8 wickets of the opposition for 104 runs. At the end the total was not enough to defend and Cheshire prevailed. **** BCC makes it to playoffs, Losing streak ends**** BCC played Norwalk Cricket Club in a must win situation in order to move into the playoffs. NCC won the toss and elected to bat. NCC started off well and scored 50 runs without losing any wickets. BCC fought back and was able to add pressure by breaking partnerships. NCC put up a total of 160 which is competitive around this time of the year. All BCC batsman got to double digits but were not able to create any partnership and BCC found themselves struggling once again. BCC needed 23 runs with 2 wickets remaining. **** UBS defeats BCC**** BCC lost to UBS and slipped another position on the points table. UBS was bowled out for 128 runs and was able to defent the total by bowling out BCC for 112. **** BCC lost to BRASS in Semifinals of 20/20**** BCC was bowled out for only 84 runs in 16 overs by Brass cricket club in the 20/20 semi final. **** BCC slips to 5th position**** BCC lost to WH Rangers to make the season 5-3. WH Rangers won the toss and elected to bat. BCC had a great start and removed the first 3 wickets for only 69 runs. WH Rangers fought back and was able to establish a big partnership and ended up with a target of 222. BCC started their inning well, both opener provided the much needed start and first wicket was lost at 96 runs but then the batting collapse and the whole team was out for 182. Scorecard |

**** BCC loses two in a row**** BCC lost to West Haven Cricket Club to make the season 5-2. WHCC won the toss and elected to bat. BCC had a great start and removed the first 8 wickets for only 116 runs. Sheldon Smith and Jignesh Patel fought hard to stay at the wicket and were able to build 79 run partnership. BCC struggled to keep the preasure on and WHCC reached a target of 223. Both BCC openers were removed for duck but Atif Zafar and Don Pierre attacked back and were able to get the score to 56. Atif and Don were looking good when their partnership got to 50 runs and then the flood gates opened up and BCC kept losing regular wickets. WHCC ended up bowling out the home side for 158 runs. **** BCC winning streak ends**** BCC lost the 6th game of 40 over regular season after winning 5 games in a row. BCC elected to bat and after a big top order collapse BCC did well to reach a target of 176 runs. Andre Wilson led the charge and scored a fighting 55 runs, Sean Edwards and Carl Thomas played a supporting role and also contributed some crucial runs. BCC did well to remove first 3 wickets for 64 runs but then Jigar Desai had a field day and scored a pounding 68 runs to get the visiting side through. His innings included 5 fours and 4 sixes. **** BCC continues in the same fashion**** After winning the quarter final on Saturday BCC continued the same form on Sunday. BCC won the toss and elected to bat against visiting side St. Johns. First time BCC got a start of 100 runs. Oniel Powell played a memorable innings of 91 runs while KK played a sensible supporting innings. John Lavine and Patrick Atkinson took full advantage of the good start given by openners and gave BCC another good partnership. **** BCC storms into 20 over semi finals**** BCC played UBS in Quater Final game of 20 over competition. BCC won the toss and elected to bat. It was a good decision as BCC got a good start. KK and John laid the foundation. Skipper chippped in with a quick fire 40 that included four boundaries and a massive Six. Target of 162 was set which was too much for UBS. **** BCC worked hard to win the 4th game of the season**** BCC played New Milford Cricket club on their 4th game of the 40 over season. The match was played at NMCC cricket ground and DON won the toss and elected to bat. BCC had a good start but then lost both openers at 72 runs. Middle order collapsed but visiting side was able to put up a competitive target of 165 runs. Sean Edwards started the BCC attack and was able to get 3 quick wickets to disturb the home side and NMCC was not able to deal with the preasure. BCC bowled them out for 146 runs. **** BCC wins 3 in a row**** BCC won the 3rd game with ease against New Haven Cricket Club. NHCC had no chance when they were reduced to total of 93 runs. Vice Captain bowled an excellent spell and took 4 wickets. Edwards and Smith also did their part and took 3 wickets each. BCC was able to reach the target in 19 overs and finished the game early. **** BCC wins a close encounter against new Team.**** BCC struggled against the new team called Cheetah cricket club but was able to pull off an amazing victory in a match that went down to the wire. Cheetah cricket club won the toss and elected to bat, they put up a target of 146 runs. BCC started off poorly and lost quick wickets. The home team was 4 wickets down with only 9 runs. **** BCC wins with ease against Cheshire 2**** BCC scored a mammoth 189 in 20 overs with a vicious knock by O'Neil (Pai) that demolished Cheshire 2 in the 3rd game of the 20/20 competition. **** BCC beats Cheetah Up in Style**** BCC played Cheetah Cricket Club in the second 20 over match and won by 31 runs. Bridgeport lost qquick wickets but responsible innings from Captain and Robin Lynch allowed a target of 133 to be set. BCC defended the target in style with the help of A. **** BCC wins the State Title**** BCC played Sportsman Cricket Club who won the CT league title for the State Cup. Sportsman elected to bat first and posted a total of 180 runs with some responsible innings by the middle order. Steve Pitter ripped through the top order by claiming first 3 crucial wickets. Experience E. Nelson and Kevin Baugh brought their side back in the game by creating a nice partnership. BCC lost wickets regularly but was able to keep up the scoring rate and chased down the target with two wickets remaining in the 37th over. Evans from Sportsman claimed 4 wickets for only 25 runs. **** BCC gets the Championship back**** BCC won the championship title of SCTCA competition once again. BCC played NHE in the finals. Big 'Don' the skipper won the toss and elected to field. The decision turned out to be the right call when NHE were 6 for 83 runs. The some middle order resistence got the opposition to post 163 runs as the target. BCC chased the runs in style. Patrick scored 62 runs which included 4 fours and 2 sixes, Big 'Don' played a captain's knock for his unbeaten 74 which included 9 fours and a six. **** BCC goes inot the Final in Style**** BCC played UBS cricket club in the Semi Finals of the SCTCA competition. UBS was put into Bat by BCC which looked like a good decision when UBS was 4 for 54 but then some good partnerships got them to put up a target of 188. BCC was able to form some partnerships around the skipper big 'Don' who scored a half century. His 54 included 3 fours and 2 massive sixes. **** BCC makes it to the Semi Finals by blasting WHCC**** BCC ripped through WHCC batting line up by getting them out for only 60 runs in the QF of SCTCA competition. Steve Pitter and Trevor Smith once again this season took 3 wickets each to demolish WHCC hopes of getting into the Semis.
