Brideport Cricket Club 2007 Letters

Congratulations from the President

I would like to extend congratulations to players, board members, club members and supporters of Bridgeport Cricket Club (BCC). Words cannot express how happy and excited I am for the team.

Player’s performance at the Championship game was outstanding. You dug deep and you came out on top like the true champions you are. Many have called to say this championship game has been the best game they have witnessed in over 15 years.

A lot of folks counted you out after scoring 130 runs, but I knew that you would be triumphant. I say it year after year that you are the best and Sunday, September 16, 2007 your confirmed it for me.

I awoke at 5 a.m. on Sunday with great anticipation of what was to come. I dressed in full gear as if I were a player. I yelled, screamed, cheered, jumped, stomped, and of course drank in support of BCC, but me alone could not do it. BCC players received TREMENDOUS support from club members, players who were not selected on that day, wives, girlfriends, families, friends, and Bridgeport spectators. There were tears of joy in my eyes when I saw the people swarm the field to congratulate you. It was a picturesque moments that I will never forget.

BCC already know what it is like to be CHAMPIONS, but this championship is sweeter than any other. Team experience and oneness prevailed.

I am proud beyond words of each of you and would not miss this opportunity to say thanks for making me a happy and proud President. You made Bridgeport, Connecticut proud.
Regards,

Rosalee Creighton-Gordon
President
Bridgeport Cricket Club

Rita's views on the Final Game

My Views on BCC Championship game:

I saw the 12th man pace from one end of the field to the next as he chased the nay-sayers away.
I saw the captain with his head in his hand.
I saw a non player take a double shot of white rum to ease the tension.
I saw our President stomp the bench, scream, and shout all through the game.
I saw tears in her eyes.
I saw a lady kill a chair with a bat.
I saw and heard the scorer reach across the field to speak to the players.
I heard the cow bell across the way.
I heard a man say stop the noise because BCC is going to loose but BCC supporters continued to yell and scream.
I saw some ladies sitting at the edge of their seats waiting and contemplating.
I saw a man drunk as he stated they can’t loose but, if they loose just take me home.
I saw a team united for a common cause.
But most of all I saw and heard love and togetherness for BCC.
They Are Royal. They are BCC – SCTCA 2007 Champions.
