**** BCC wins a low scoring game**** BCC won against NMCC in a low scoring game. NMCC only scored 108 runs and BCC chased it with 9 wickets down. NMCC bowlers did well to get BCC down by 9 wickets but there were just not enough runs on the board for them to defend. Robin Lynch and Trevor Smith finished the game to bring home the victory. **** BCC loses by mere 4 runs in a nail biter**** BCC lost to West Haven Cricket only by 4 runs. WHCC elected to bat and put up a target of 209 runs. BCC started off shaky and was down 4 wickets for 83 runs. Reidy and Steve played a fighting knock to get the visting side where only 5 runs were needed in the last over. Reidy made an excellent 82 runs. BCC were not able to make any runs in the last over and lost the 2nd game of the season. **** BCC crushes Brass Cricket Club to make it 6-1**** After losing last week to NHE, BCC did well to crush visiting club by 106 runs. BCC won the toss and elected to bat when conditions suited the batsman. Openers gave BCC a start of 101 runs. Clive Doman scored 107 runs and Patrick Atkinson played a responsible knock of 37 runs which layed the foundation. Middle order fireworks boosted the total to 323 runs when Steve Pitter and Lloyd Reid scored 59 and 40 runs respectively with boundaries galore. **** Winning Streak Ends with a thrilling encounter**** Bridgeport Cricket Clubs winning streak came to an end against NHE cricket club on Sunday when BCC lost its first game in a high scoring thriller. BCC did well to post a target of 209. The highlights of the batting was a 50 by Mark Audain and some late order fireworks. BCC couldn't contain the visiting side who were able to chase the target in mere 34 overs. M. Sial gave the opposition an ideal start by playing an aggressive knock of 76 runs which included 12 fours and 2 sixes. BCC bowled 55 wides which also didn't help. ScoreCard |

**** BCC beats Norwalk to make it 4-0**** It was a great display of team effort and recovery by BCC when they beat Norwalk in game 4 of the season. BCC won the toss and skipper elected to bat which looked like the wrong decision when BCC was only 61 for 5 wickets down. The recovery came from lower order in style lead by Lloyd Reid. Reidy and Adam Stamford played aggresively to peg the opponent back. Reidy scored a responsible fifty with 5 fours and 1 six while Adam scored 46 with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Lower order also chipped in with a great partnership between A. Wilson and Dominic Audain scoring 34 and 38 respectively. Norwalk only scored 125 runs in reply to target of massive 238 runs. **** Victory number 3 came in Style for BCC**** BCC demolished New Haven Cricket Club to record third consecutive victory of the season. BCC scored 166 runs with an impressive knock by P. Atkinson of 82 runs, Patrick played responsibly and held the innings together while wickets fell regularly. Tony Brown and Trevor Smith bowled with venom to destroy the visiting team for a mere 87 runs, they took 5 and 4 wickets respectively. **** Senior players help BCC record 2nd win.**** The senior players of BCC were able to prove once again their importance by stepping up when most needed in the 2nd game of the season against Cheshire Cricket Club. BCC elected to bat first after winning the toss and after some hiccups were able to put up a target of 144 runs. Steve Pitter and Lloyd Reid made the most contribution by playing a responsible knocks of 44 and 31 respectively. It was a nail biting finish when Cheshire needed 2 runs to win with no wickets in hand and 3 balls remaing when Mr. Reidy removed R. Desai to bring home the victory. **** Season Begins**** Season starts this week for BCC. There will be a warmup game with Masters IX lead by Lloyd Reid. Captain Keneth Pierre and Vice Caption Carl Thomas has requested all players to be present at the ground by 12:00 p.m. on Saturday April 24th. |
